Recipe of the week

I forgot to post a recipe on monday so sorry this is late! I thought since we just had Thanksgiving, everyone would have lots of turkey and stuffing left so here's a recipe to use it up! Enjoy

Turkey and stuffing Casserole
3 cups cooked and diced turkey
2 cups water
2 chicken bullion cubes
1 8 oz cream cheese
6 T flour
1/2 cup water
2 boxes prepared stuffing

In a saucepan put water and bullion and bring to a boil. Mix the flour and and other water and add to the bullion mix. Reduce the heat to medium and add the cream cheese till it melts. In a 9x13 inch pan layer the turkey, stuffing and sauce. You should have enough to do 2 layers. Then put it in the oven on 350 for 30 minutes. You can use lowfat cream cheese and whole wheat stuffing and it makes it healthier for you. I hope you enjoy!

weight loss

With my weight loss of another 1 1/2 I am down 15 pounds and feeling pretty good about life. Its been hard sometimes to be good and not eat everything in site. I am an emotional eater so this does happen sometimes but for the most part I have tried to stay within my points. I am doing weight watchers so you are only allowed a certain amount of points. For those of you trying to lose weight too I wish you good luck! You can do it!!

Memories

I attended a funeral of a member of my old single's ward bishopric yesterday. It was an emotional service but I think if we didnt have the knowledge of the gospel it would have been harder. He was in the prime of his life in his 50's with 6 kids and 8 grandkids. It was such a reminder that life is short and we should never take for granted what we have. I know he is in a better spot but I still feel for those left behind.

My grandma Jean

This is my grandma Braegger and she is my favorite! She is the most loving person. She accepts you for who you are and never judges you when you do something wrong. I love to go and visit her and try to once a week. She is slowly getting so she doesnt remember much and its hard to see her get that way. I have lots of memories with her and I just wanted to share a little bit about her. As you can tell she has quite a green thumb and can bring anything back to life! She has an acre and a half of flower gardens. I think of it as my own garden of eden!

Recipe of the week

Pear Salad

1 quart of pears
1 8oz cream cheese softened
1 small box of lime jello
1 8oz cool whip

Drain juice from pears and heat till boiling. If you dont have 1 cup of juice you can add water to make up the difference. Add the jello to the juice and stir till dissolved, put in the fridge till slightly set up. Take the pkg of cream cheese and the pears and put in the blender till blended then add the jello. Pour into a bowl and fold in the cool whip then refridgerate till set up.

This is one of my favorites that my mom makes. I hope you will all enjoy it as much as I do!

ANYA!!!

Mark and his family came to visit on Sunday for Phil's birthday. It was really fun to have them there. Anya was being so cute that I couldn't help but take a bunch of pictures of her. These are only some of the many. Olya is very talented when it comes to sewing of any kind. She knitted that cute hat that Anya's wearing. The pictures of her squinting is when I would blow a puff of air in her face and she'd take a deep breath and giggle. My favorite is of her trying to give me a kiss with Eeyore in her mouth. :) Next time, it will be Maya's spotlight.

Corn anyone?

Halloween is such a fun time of year! You can pretend to be whoever and whatever you want and not feel weird or self conscious about it. For this year's Halloween party, inspiration for my costume came from the old game show, "Let's Make a Deal". I took my own spin on it and this is what I came up with. :)

My roommate went as a salt shaker!!! Hopefully we can get her computer running and get a pic of her posted, too. :)
