Haiti

Here they are getting all the supplies ready to go

Helping one of the hundreds with cuts on his leg. He is so cute!

Helping after they pulled a guy from a pile of rubble.

When I heard of the earthquake in Haiti it made me so sad. The news stories that I see and the papers I read are just heart breaking. I so wish I could do something to help them. A couple of days ago I read about a local doctor from here that was so devastated that he had to do something. I kept reading and noticed that it was a man that I know! I met him and his family when I lived here before so it was great to see a familiar face. The article said that when he heard the news he knew he had to go so he called the church headquarters. They were organizing a bunch of doctors to go over in a few days if he could make it to Salt Lake. Well without even thinking twice he got all of his appointments covered kissed his wife and was off. He is able to call every night and let his wife know he is ok. He said that the devastation there is almost too much to handle. There are so many injured people that he when he first arrived he saw 80-100 people! I thought it was really interesting that although the medical buildings were badly ruined our church stood still. The have converted the church into a hospital since its big enough to separate people. He said that during the day he stays in his doctor mode just fixing people up but at night he cant help but break down. I am so lucky to know such a Christ like person that would sacrifice for others. Its amazing how much our church can rally when things like this happen. Our church sent in 80,000 pounds of food and supplies the first week and its already gone. Keep them in your prayers!

need advice please!

I would really like some advice if anyone is out there and feels like they can help... I recently was really offended by someone and I cant seem to get over it. I know you are suppose to forgive and forget and move on but I just cant. I was really hurt and I am not sure how to be around this person again without feeling that. I have been offended before and really wasn't as upset as I am this time. Well anyway if anyone has any ideas of how I can get past this and move on it would be great to hear from you!

Anniversary already!

I cant believe that today marks 1 year since I have moved to Oregon! The time has sure flown by. This experience has had its ups and downs for sure. The lack of jobs here and maybe everywhere has been really discouraging. I just barely was able to find something not full time but at least something! I am so grateful for that and hope it will work into something full time. I have loved living in this rainy state. There is just something about the rain that calms me. It has been fun to see so many neat things and adventure out. It makes me sad I didn't do that more when I lived in Utah. I have lots I want to do and see this year so I hope I can get it all done! I hope you keep reading and enjoy my adventures as much as I do!

Gymnastic Meet

Have you ever been to a gymnastics meet? Well I have been to so many I cant even count them all. There is just something about them that I just love. Maybe its the fact that they are very talented and can bend like no one's business! I have always been amazed by the things they are able to do. I was always glad that I went to the USU meets cause there were not very many that supported the sport. (Well nothing like the thousands they got for Basketball.) Well after moving to Oregon I told myself it would be great to support the OSU team. I got my first chance last night at their first meet. I was so blown away by the support they have from so many! There were so many fans there and they even have a gymnastic band! The pictures were taken by my roommate. She did a panoramic shot to show how many came! After watching the meet I could see why they are ranked number 10! They did so awesome through out the meet and came out 1st out of the 3 teams they played. It was great and I am excited to see them again!

How many blogs are too many?

So I just started a blog for my church group. I was thinking of also starting another one to track my fitness. That would be alot of blogs to keep up on. I already have 3 before adding those in. I love to blog though its so much easier then writing in a journal. I have had friends print them out and make books. I think that is a good idea and I think I will consider doing that with at least my recipe blog. So it comes down to this do I have the time and energy to do 2 more blogs?

Goals!

I cant believe its 2010! It seemed like this year was so far off and now its here.I have been pondering this last year and the ups and downs that I was faced with. It has been quite a learning year for me. I have had to trust in Heavenly Father more then ever that he knew what was the best. I have lots of goals in mind for this year and I hope I didn't go overboard. I think its best to start slowly and then you dont get overwhelmed so fast. I am hoping for a great year full of surprises. I am going to be doing some changes to my blog so stay tuned for those. I hope all of you have goals you are looking forward to. Here is to a great New Year!
